Continuing with its expansion and as mentioned in previous posts, on 10th May Telefónica launched the Wayra Academy in Ireland.
Here are some images of the launch:
Just as a reminder, Wayra is an initiative of Telefónica Digital, whose main objective is to enhance innovation and detection of new talents in Latin America and Europe in the field of Internet and new Information and Communication Technologies (ICT). Wayra provides support to entrepreneurs through its project accelerator global model. The project accelerator global model speeds up the development of the selected projects through technological tools, qualified mentors, a forefront working space and project financing.
Therefore, from the 10th May and until 24 June 2012, technology entrepreneurs in Ireland can submit their project ideas here and participate in the selection process of the 10 best projects.
The best 10 projects selected will receive 50,000 pounds each of them. They will also get access to a new work space, in the Dublin Headquarters, as well as support and advice.
Experts in the area of innovation will assess each application and invite to the winners of a first round selection process to participate in the Wayra week in September. During that week, a jury (formed by internal and external members of the company) will select the 10 best projects.
The Dublin Academy is the 11th Wayra Academy, which is already present in Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Peru, Colombia, Spain (Madrid and Barcelona), Mexico, United Kingdom and Venezuela.
