  • Idoya Arteagabeitia González currently holds the position of Chief Regulatory, Public Policy and Competition Officer at Telefónica S.A.

    She joined Telefónica in 2021 as Director of Corporate Regulation at Telefónica S.A.

    Prior to joining Telefónica, Idoya was a partner at the law firm Pinsent Masons, where she led the Finance, Fintech and Banking practice in the firm’s Madrid office. Earlier in her career, she held several positions within the Spanish State Legal Service, including roles at the National Court (Audiencia Nacional), the Ministry of Justice, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation (AECID).

    For several years, she also served as Head of Legal and Secretary to the Board of Directors of the Instituto de Crédito Oficial (ICO), the Spanish public development bank, as well as of its subsidiaries, including AxisPart, a venture capital fund management company, and the ICO Foundation.

    In addition, Idoya has served as a Non-Executive Director (NED) of the Asset Management Company for Assets Arising from Bank Restructuring (Sareb), the Spanish Development Finance Company (COFIDES), and Mercedes-Benz Financial Services, EFC.

    She holds a Law degree from the University of Salamanca, completed part of her studies at Maastricht University in the Netherlands, and earned a postgraduate qualification in European and Community Law. In 2002, she joined the Spanish State Legal Service as a State Attorney.
