Sabrina de Andrade

B2B Endomarketing Communication Analyst

My name is Sabrina de Andrade, my first profession was dental prosthetics, it was the profession that took me to Alicante. While I was there I decided to study something I was more passionate about. In 2013 I graduated in Web Design and Programming at the Instituto Las Heras Center and went on to specialise in marketing for digital products.

After twelve years in Spain, I returned to Brazil and I am currently studying Institutional Communication.

I consider myself an organised, committed, friendly, family-oriented person. I love to enjoy my free time with nature, with close friends, with my family, skating, I love going to the cinema, theatre and I enjoy reading and creating on my own. I am also passionate about travelling, I enjoy getting to know new places, cultures and people.

Working in this company has allowed me to grow professionally and personally, getting to know new areas in telecommunications and many colleagues who have helped me in this great progress of growth and adaptation in a new Brazil that I met again after ten years living in Spain.

It is amazing how opportunities exist on a daily basis in Telefónica Brazil (Vivo). It is a gigantic ecosystem. I found mine with the diversity group for the PcD public.

One of my main goals is to keep learning every day, discovering new things and living new experiences.

Carlos Tamargo

Graduated in Journalism by vocation, but working in the Marketing team of CDO. I like good stories and knowing how to transmit them so that people get to know them. I am also passionate about sport.

Cristina Helguera Sánchez

I like to start by telling my personal side. I am married and a mother of three young children, my last two twins currently two years old, who have been strengthening and challenging my multitasking skills and patience in equal parts.

I studied Architecture at the Polytechnic University of Madrid. I chose this career because of the combination of interests that I was equally passionate about: physics, structures, mathematics, drawing, creativity? I enjoyed and suffered in equal measure the career, with many sleepless nights that nevertheless passed quickly and turned into mornings of many nerves for the presentation of projects.

I lived in Germany and spent time in India, broadening my perspective. I complemented my studies with a master’s degree at IE, after which I joined a strategic consulting firm where I continued with many sleepless nights but where I learned a lot about projects, that everything is easier in a team and I understood different sectors (banking, insurance, telecommunications, industry, retail…). Those were intense but very valuable years. Subsequently, I joined Telefónica, where I have spent the last 10 years practically all of them in the Corporate Strategy and Strategy and Finance team in Latin America.

I am always asked how an architect ends up working at Telefónica, and the truth is that I think my studies and past experiences were key. In my degree I developed skills and muscle in tackling diverse projects in which it was necessary to understand the need, propose options and draw solutions; and in consultancy I faced more of the same, every 2-3 months we had new projects that involved a change of sector, client and team, which gave me the opportunity and capacity to face the blank page without fear. In Telefónica, from the strategy and finance teams, we face challenges with that approach, understanding the context, the opportunities and risks, our options and proposing solutions.

Mario García-Mora Casarrubio

When I discovered that there was a job that focused on thinking, talking, discovering and doing, I didn’t hesitate. I approached my mother and told her I wanted to be creative. After explaining to her that this was something that could be studied, she was reassured and gave me her blessing.

I did the Integral Creativity course at Brother Madrid, where I won a pencil in D&AD’s New Blood 2022 and I was a finalist in the DOERS (Brother) course.

Álvaro Barbado Márquez

Canarian without an accent and proud geek. I currently work at Telefónica’s Creative Agency as a creative copywriter for the company’s internal and external channels. I joined the company in July 2018, and it is true that in a very short time I have been able to live unique moments, such as a rebranding or, shortly, a whole centenary.

I am responsible for content for Mejor Conectados, Telefónica’s platform that aims to highlight the power of human connections through stories that invite us to reflect, inspire, connect and achieve incredible things. In addition, content development for different campaigns and projects of the brand.

Raquel Rojo

My name is Raquel Rojo. I work in Telefónica’s Corporate Communications department. I studied journalism because I am passionate about knowing the reality that surrounds us in all its aspects and giving a voice to people and situations that sometimes do not have the prominence they deserve in society.

I am passionate about my family, animals, nature, sport, coffee and finding small details to be grateful for in everyday life.

Antonio José Hernández

I studied Business Administration and Management at the Carlos III University because when I was a child I wanted to be a toy maker. When I finished my degree I accepted a job as a sales executive in a bank in Fuengirola. My girlfriend was Andalusian and we did crazy things for love. I remember those times very fondly (how young we were…) although 6 months were enough to make me realise that banking was not my thing.

Then I worked for two years as a consultant in a software company servicing very stressed brokers who, for some strange reason, all wore braces! What happened next will surprise you… And today it has been more than 19 years since I joined this great family of ours as an intern.

I consider these years here to be the best of my life, just like that. What I have experienced here and continue to experience here is unique, unrepeatable.

Cándido García

I was born on Saturday 5th October 1968 at 5 p.m. Why am I telling you this? October 5th is the patron saint of Lugo, the land of my family, and teachers’ day (coincidence?).

I had one in the Barcelona of the neighbourhoods, in La Verneda, with food and the Galician language at home, first in a neighbourhood school, then in a Salesian school with only boys! Then the COU and another change, this time to the Institut Jaume Bofill with new friends, in a totally different social and cultural environment and where I discovered that the world is full of interesting people to meet.

First I wanted to be an Air Traffic Controller (no idea why), then a Lawyer (I loved debating) … and in the end I said “I want something for 3 years with a secure job” … and that’s how Technical Engineering in Telecoms appeared … Well, what you call a lifelong vocation!!!

When I was 20 years old, I got very good results in my degree with some provincial competitive examinations in the pre-Olympic Barcelona and I started working as a Technical Operator… When I saw the first power station I was astonished!!! What was that? Where I was waiting for NASA I found the Pentaconta relays!!! I had my first bosses, the military service, going out with friends.  And very, very far away was the University. I’m proud of finishing my Telecoms degree… although it took me my time, 10 years. I still have nightmares that all of a sudden I have more subjects left. The important thing is that I finished it, and it helped me to join Telefónica.

Change to the Sagrera head office, change to the military service, change to the Internal Services department (precursor of Puesto de Trabajo), the first computers, the Banyan, the mail, the Office….. Life is pure change.

I signed up for the Oposiciones para Técnico, those oppositions with more than 700 places…and in Madrid. So that’s where I went. Two months in Leganitos and 2 years in Ríos Rosas, in the MORE. And there came the first reports… Massive transfers and I was 34 for Barcelona, and 34 places were available!!! There was no AVE, but as if there were!!!! And Madrid was and is always in my heart.

On my return, I spent a year at the Data Services Centre and I found out that they were looking for people for Senior Management Reports… I remember my boss Manel telling me “If you do very well they will know you, and if you don’t, then you have to try to do well! It was the dawn of ADSL and my first report was the monitoring of ADSL registrations. One day they told us that we were joining up with a department in Madrid that also did reports and Ulises was born, one of the projects that has left me with the best memories of my working life. How good it is to work with resources, with colleagues who knew the Latin for each service and with great bosses! How nice it is to feel recognised and valued as a person and as a group. It was there that I also started the “wally courses” and the development of my great passion, training.

So I stayed for many years, until Ulysses died… and CIRCE was born, the project that I coordinate today and where I still have the same luck: to be surrounded by very good people and people who know much more than me.

All this spiced up with Yammer and WorkPlace, since another of my passions is to share knowledge and learn from everyone…

And today, 15 November 2023, we continue with the changes in Life… it seems that my working life at Telefónica may be coming to an end… It’s dizzying, it’s true, they say it’s cold outside… I’ll look for a warm place to continue learning and teaching, changing and changing and always enjoying myself.

Elena Gil Lizasoain

Degree in Economics and Business Administration from the University of Deusto and MBA from the MIT Sloan School of Management. Married and mother of two sons, Mikel and Daniel, aged 19 and 17 respectively.

I joined Telefonica in Miami in 2000, a special year at the turn of the millennium and in the midst of the dotcom bubble boom. At that time I never imagined that I would stay more than 20 years in the same company.

At Telefónica I have developed professionally and personally. It has allowed me to live in 3 different countries (USA, Spain and Brazil), to get to know Latin America in depth and to acquire a transversal vision of the business, having worked in the Corporate, SME and Residential segments.

Also, in the last ten years, I have witnessed from a privileged position the transformative potential of digital technologies for companies: Big Data, Artificial Intelligence, IoT and Blockchain.

Eduardo Gallego

My name is Eduardo Gallego and I have been working at Telefónica since 1999, always in the wholesale area, specifically in the development of services for operators.  Before that, I was in a company that managed a communications network connecting European railways.

There is also life outside Telefónica: I am president of the Association of Friends of the Madrid Metro and, together with 6 other members, we have written a couple of books on the history of our metro, the most recent of which is entitled “100 años de metro en Madrid. From Cuatro Caminos to the centenary”.

Finally, I would like to stress about myself that I am always willing to learn, so I consider any investment in training to be less costly than the alternative. As Derek Bok, President of Harvard for more than 20 years, said, “If you think education is expensive, try ignorance”.

Rafael Sánchez Murillo

Since December 1995 I have been in this house, enjoying the experience of being part of a great paradigm shift for a whole society: the irruption of mobile telephony in their lives.

My career has always been very close to the final mobile customer, as I have worked in both the planning and optimisation of the mobile radio access network. From “those crazy people” who go around deciding where to put the antennas on the terraces of buildings or on towers in the middle of the countryside or go around the streets with several phones reproducing the real quality perceived by the customers.

It has been a very intense few years in which changes have been constant and the requirements of our users have been greater and greater. Although some may think that it has been an obstacle course, I have always felt surrounded by a great human capital that has accompanied me in this great adventure.

I would not only include “our telephonists” but also some customers who made me feel like one of the family.

Andrea Folgueiras

Andrea Folgueiras is an Electronic Engineer from the University of Buenos Aires and completed a Master of Business Administration at ESEADE.

She has accumulated over 30 years of experience in the telecommunications sector, holding positions of responsibility in various countries. Since 2016, she has held the position of Director of Technology and Information (CTIO) for HispAm region (8 countries). She is a member of the Internet for All Councils in Peru, and of Onnet Fibra in Colombia and Chile.

In April 2025, she was appointed to the Executive Committee of the Telefónica Group as Chief Technology and Information Officer (CTIO).

Denise Sayuri

I consider myself a very fortunate person to have had the opportunity to develop professionally and personally along with the evolution of Telefônica Brasil, which has changed completely during this period, without losing its DNA and values. It is as if I had worked in different areas, in different companies, within the same company.

I started in 2004 at Telesp, a fixed concessionaire, as a manager in the Strategy and New Business area and I experienced my first professional cycle, where I was able to work with new business development, M&A and mainly Regulatory Strategy, in a critical phase of the regulatory framework, so I learned a lot about our sector.

Between 2010 and 2016, it was already a new company, VIVO, much bigger in all aspects, after the fixed-mobile consolidation. That’s where I had my first stint in IT, as Director of Planning and Governance. Accompanying the merger from IT with a transversal vision was a unique experience, because the challenges in Technology in consolidation movements are added to the inherent challenges of the area.

After this experience, I spent 6 years in B2B Business, responsible for segment strategy and account management. This opportunity allowed me to actively participate in a unique transformation and the expansion of our operation and our portfolio with digital services and with it, 3 new technology companies were born, the TTECHs.

And 2 years ago, since October 2021, I am living the biggest professional challenge of my life, returning as CIO to this totally challenging and exciting area, which is the IT area, in a context in which VIVO incorporates new products and services far beyond Telco and positions itself as a technology company.
