This question is often on our minds, but we usually ignore it because our main objective is to supply some charge to the electronic device, be it a mobile phone, tablet, laptop, etc.

In the digitalised world we live in, I always jokingly say: “I think we can go out without clothes, but never without a mobile phone“. And it becomes a complete nightmare, going out with your mobile phone and the battery is about to run out of charge.

The optimal option we always use is to ask our friends (or whoever can help us) to give us a charge and the only thing that interests us is to know if that connector is the right type (type c, micro usb, etc.).

But we have asked ourselves, what am I doing to my phone; is it OK to charge with any charger?

This is one of the most wrong choices we make, since electronic devices have their own charge. If we are more technical, these devices need a specific charging power, to take care of the battery, as well as to take care of all the internal electrical elements for its correct functionality.

But the question remains, how bad is it to charge and get out of the problem of low battery? Well, the main problem is that by using a charger that is not the original one, we run risks such as: shortening the life of the battery, causing an overcharge, damaging electrical elements, causing my equipment to discharge faster than usual.

Main reasons for using original chargers

  • Guaranteed safety: Genuine chargers are designed and thoroughly tested to meet the most rigorous safety standards. This means that they are made of high quality materials and are equipped with protection mechanisms against overcharging, overheating and short circuits. Using an original charger significantly reduces the risk of damaging your device or, worse, causing a fire.
  • Optimal compatibility: Electronic device manufacturers design their chargers to work optimally with their products. This ensures efficient and trouble-free charging, avoiding potential damage to the battery or the device’s internal circuitry. By opting for an original charger, you can be sure that your device will receive the right amount of power, prolonging its lifespan.
  • Charging performance and speed: Genuine chargers are designed to deliver the power you need efficiently and quickly. Using a generic or low-quality charger can result in longer charging times or inconsistent charging, which can be frustrating, especially when you need your device urgently. With an original charger, you can enjoy optimal performance and charging speed at all times.
  • Manufacturer’s warranty: By using an original charger, you keep your device’s manufacturer’s warranty intact. In the event of a charging or battery problem, you can call customer service and receive hassle-free support. On the other hand, if you use an unauthorised charger, you may void your warranty and be left without support in case of any issues.

In short, choosing an original charger for your electronic devices is a smart investment that pays off. Not only do you ensure the safety and optimal performance of your device, but you also protect its lifespan and keep the manufacturer’s warranty intact. Remember that quality and safety are priceless when it comes to your electronic devices.

Conclusions

For all these reasons, it is always preferable to use an original charger. To make an analogy: it is like putting poor quality fuel in your car, it will cause it to underperform, slow down and eventually damage parts as considerable as the engine.

In the age of technology, our electronic devices are indispensable companions in our daily lives. From smartphones to laptops and tablets, these devices keep us connected, productive and entertained. However, one of the most neglected aspects by users is the choice of charger. Many opt for cheaper alternatives, but is it really worth risking the safety and performance of our devices?
