Today and tomorrow the 2nd Digital Agenda Assembly will take place in Brussels. This is a relevant event to know where we are right now concerning the implementation of the Digital Agenda for Europe and what needs to be done.
What is the DAA exactly?
Let´s first explain what the Digital Agenda for Europe is. It is the European Union's roadmap established to provide the best benefits of digital society and economy to Europe's citizens.
To better know where we go, taking into account the current situation, the European Commission organizes the Digital Agenda Assembly where a multitude of stakeholders are invited to share their views on the DAE and how to better reach its objectives.
We already explained last year that through this DAA, the EU wishes to:
- Analyze the progress made up to now concerning the implementation of the Digital Agenda´s goals & actions,
- Identify the next challenges for a successful implementation of the Digital Agenda
- And also include the various stakeholders perspective (national governments, industry, organizations linked to ICT), which are necessary to implement the strategy designed but also go further.
As a guideline, the European Commission already published the outcomes of the Digital Agenda scoreboard, evaluating the status of the targets initially pointed out and linked to the 7 pillars of the DAE. Those pillars are the following ones:

The Assembly presents an interesting agenda based the first day, on 8 workshops dealing with key issues of the Digital Agenda for Europe and the second day, a plenary session to summarize and highlight the main contributions but also to debate how to go forward.
The workshops will deal with the following issues, which can be followed through their respective hashtags:
