The First Open International Forum (IOIF) on Mobile Technologies for Social Inclusion will be held in Barcelona from the 20th to 22nd of November 2012 as a three-day event organized by the M-Inclusion Consortium. This event aims to identify the needs and analyze the solutions based on mobile technologies for social groups at risk of digital exclusion (ie: chronically ill patients, people with disabilities, low-income and isolated populations) by bringing together those stakeholders that play a relevant role in this area, from a technological, social as well as a political-economic perspective.

The IOIF on Mobile technologies for Social Inclusion will take place under the umbrella of the Móvil Forum Conference 2012 in Barcelona, where Telefónica organizes Spain’s largest forum on mobile solutions for business productivity, efficiency and sustainability. The moto for this year is: “New business for a new future. Let’s talk about”.

To register for the First Open International Forum on Mobile Technologies, please register first in M-Inclusion Community. After registration, you can submit your participation request from here.

M-Inclusion has a joint agreement with Móvil Forum Conference. By registering in M-Inclusion First Open International Forum on mobile technologies for social inclusion you will automatically be registered in Móvil Forum Conference 2012.

During the event, the M-Inclusion awards for “Apps4Change” Challenge Program 2012, which recognize groundbreaking mobile solutions for social inclusion, will be presented.

This competition offers a prize of 10,000 dollars to the developer of a technological solution that makes life easier for people at risk of exclusion. The objective of this initiative is to imagine, design and implement the best idea.

In selecting the winning solution of Apps4change, the level of innovation as well as the assistance the proposals can provide to people of this kind will be taken into account.

All the proposed applications will be made available to these groups of people in the M-Inclusion marketplace, where they will be able to discover some of the most important applications in the world related to digital inclusion.

You can still take part in the competition by clicking here, before the 15th of November.

M-Inclusion aims to create a community of users and developers for those individuals who are suffering from chronic diseases, people living in isolated areas, people with disabilities or on low incomes and developers or research organizations involved in mobile technologies in the European Union and Latin America.

M-Inclusion is an initiative funded by the European Commission (EC) under the auspices of the 7th Framework Programme, the main tool in Europe for the funding of R&D projects. The consortium, led by Telefónica, also includes Futura Networks Colombia, Innovation Engineering, Econet, the Nokia Technology Institute of Brazil, the Federal University of Minas Gerais in Brazil, Cayetano Heredia University in Peru and the Polytechnical University of Valencia in Spain.
