How long have you been with Telefónica and what is your assessment of your time here?

I joined Telefónica in 1999. During these years, I experienced many changes and had the opportunity to grow personally and professionally in an often challenging environment. It is easy to value my time at Telefónica, as I consider it as part of my family. This company has not only provided me with opportunities to grow in my career, but I have also developed meaningful and lasting relationships, and why not, like any family, Telefónica often meant to me “a place where you make a break to find your own identity”. I am grateful for all the experiences and learning I have gained here.

Is there any project at Telefónica that you feel particularly satisfied with?

Telefónica’s Volunteering project is a source of pride for many of us because it reflects our commitment to society and helps to promote our values. I would highlight the Reforestation Campaign we did a few years ago where, in collaboration with an environmental organisation, we were able to feel part of restoring the ecosystem and promoting environmental awareness.

What do you think Telefónica has contributed to society?

Providing communication services, promoting technological development, investment in infrastructure, and commitment to society, among other aspects; and fundamentally the possibility of connecting people.

Where do you see Telefónica in the future?

It will probably be marked by AI (Artificial Intelligence), continuous technological evolution and digital innovation, commitment to sustainability and the search for strategic partnerships that expand our community. More urgently, we need to look at how we carry out these hybrid workspaces where face-to-face and virtuality are often in parallel, with little benefit for the latter.

Could you live without a mobile phone?

Yes, but look for another way to connect, the devices are replaceable but the Connection is something intrinsic to the human being.

Help us solve one of the great enigmas of humanity: the potato omelette… With onion or without onion?

The one my grandmother used to make, the classic one, but with French fries…. I liked to watch her turn it over in the frying pan with great determination!

Suggest a crazy idea you would like Telefónica to do for its 100th anniversary

On a global level, an interactive museum dedicated to the history of telecommunications and the evolution of technology over the last century. A space where not only static exhibits can be viewed, but also interactive and technological experiences that allow the public to experience first-hand the most exciting technological advances of the past, present and future; including lectures and workshops on topics related to technology and innovation.

I nominate Nicolás Otero.
