How long have you been with Telefónica and what is your assessment of your time here?

I have been with Telefónica for 10 years and the evolution of the company and its employees has been enormous. In recent years, as a result of the technological revolution we have been experiencing, all management and processes have been speeded up, activities have been automated, we are moving at a dizzying pace and everything can be speeded up much more. Although it is true that the oldest internal corporate applications still cannot be replaced today because it is not so easy to do, I am convinced that once we make that leap internally, we will move at lightning speed.

Is there any project at Telefónica that you are particularly satisfied with?

One of the projects I have been involved in and I feel proud of was when I worked at Iberbanda (a subsidiary of the Telefónica Group), I had to manage the migration of the “Carterised Customers” from Iberbanda to Telefónica. It was a unique experience because we did not have a roadmap, there was no instruction manual, we were creating the project together and day by day we were incorporating best practices. Being an administrative receptionist at the time, and suddenly finding myself migrating to important customers with connectivity systems that they had no idea about, was a great challenge and very enriching in all aspects. It was such a success that we managed to migrate almost 90% of the customers and to such an extent that we were an inspiring success story for the FARO Project for the copper switch-off. We have contributed to the decarbonisation of the economy and I am very happy about that.

What do you think Telefónica has contributed to society?

Telefónica has contributed to a constant evolution in society, hand in hand with connectivity and communication. The innovative spirit that characterises it means that it is always at the forefront and a pioneer in any era of humanity.

Where do you see Telefónica in the future?

I see Telefónica as a pioneer or better, keeping its DNA intact. I love the idea of working in a company that sets the direction of society and, at the same time, is aware of its influence on society and is committed to continuing to build a more humane world.

Could you live without a mobile phone?

No, I definitely could not. In fact, I think I was a visionary in 1986. I was only 8 years old and I had heard that KIT (the Fantastic Car) was on display at a fair in Buenos Aires and I intended to communicate with him with my mother’s Casio calculator that translated in several languages. The calculator had the size and shape of what today we call Smart Phone. Incredible, isn’t it?

Help us solve one of the great enigmas of humanity: the potato omelette… With onion or without onion?

Well, I think I’m going to break with the norm because I prefer potato omelette with onion or without onion, hahaha. I find the omelette itself too dense and not very digestive for my taste.

What crazy idea would you like Telefónica to come up with for its centenary?

As I’m a singer, it would be really cool to see a concert through a hologram. In Japan they have dared to do something but not with a complete concert, I think it won’t be long before we see something crazy like that.
