GCCSTomorrow will start the Global Conference on Cyberspace 2015 (GCCS2015) following the Conferences held in London (2011), Budapest (2012) and Seoul (2013). It’s taking place almost exactly one year after NETmundial initiative and in the middle of the WSIS+10 process.

 

The conference will address the current and future challenges and opportunities presented by the digitization of our societies and economies. Representatives from all stakeholder groups will gather to in order to promote practical cooperation in cyberspace, to enhance cyber capacity building, and to discuss norms for responsible behavior in cyberspace. Participants shall discuss in a comprehensive manner how to better address these challenges:

  1. maintain and develop safe ways to do business online
  2. protect online freedom and combat crime related activities
  3. promote international stability in the cyber domain

 

Though the conference will develop around three main themes –freedom, growth and security- the discussions will mainly center on cybersecurity issues, while the intersection with the remaining themes and other relevant issues will enrich the debates and outcomes. Indeed, during the GCCS 2015 issues like online security, freedom and privacy on the internet Freedom and privacy on the internet and IT-based economic growth will be addressed.
