Latch from Eleven Paths: A switch for Digital Services that provides end users control over their digital life

Eleven Paths, a Telefónica Company, launched Latch in December 2013. Latch is an App which provides end users with total control over the availability of their digital services and thus, increasing the security of their digital identities.

Latch, which is 100% free, could become your single point to manage all your digital identities and is available for iOS, Android, Windows Phone and Firefox OS devices – a version for Blackberry is on the way.

Latch implements a digital switch enabling end users to turn off and on their Internet accounts (social media, e-mail, bank accounts, credit & debit cards and others) during defined timeframes: at night, over weekends, etc. While accounts are turned off, no interaction with such account is possible, not even login in. Any attempt to access or interaction with the account will trigger an alarm message to the user. By virtually turning off accounts during given timeframes, Latch reduces the services’ times of exposure, which immediately increases security for consumers and businesses.

The universities of La Rioja (IULR) and Salamanca (USAL) as well as two other companies, Cajamar Caja Rural and the Cortefiel Group, have already integrated Latch into their online services. There are also 20 enterprises testing this app.

Telefónica is using Latch in the Movistar customer portal in Spain as well as in Acens cloud services. Furthermore, Telefónica wants to add the app to the Tuenti social network and will load it onto all new mobile devices across its entire footprint.

Latch has recently been awarded with the best multi-device mobile app award at the 2015 Internet Awards ceremony.
