Today, as every day, we celebrate the talent and the contribution of all the people who are part of Telefónica and who, through their work, drive our purpose of becoming the best gateway for citizens to access digital technologies.

In this context, we continue progressing on this journey with the conviction that only through diversity can we build a truly innovative environment. This is why we work to ensure a space of trust, where every person can fully develop, feel safe, and be who they are — free from barriers and regardless of their orientation, identity, or expression.

Our commitment is reflected in an ecosystem of global policies and local actions that promote equality and support the LGBTIQ+ community across all the regions where we operate, many of them developed in collaboration with leading organisations.

A commitment that translates into concrete actions:

In Germany, since June 2024, the Pride Community has been dedicated to creating an inclusive working environment where everyone can reach their full potential. With more than 200 active members across all locations, the community works to ensure that LGBTIQ+ inclusion remains a priority throughout the year and that diverse perspectives are visible and valued.

Among other initiatives, the Pride season in Germany has begun under the motto “A strong signal for everyone”. The first episode of the One Company, Many Faces series has been launched on the intranet; participation of nine groups in CSD parades across Germany has been promoted, coordinated locally by the Pride Community; collaboration is underway with other Pride networks in the telecommunications sector for local CSD events; and Pride flags have been displayed at three main sites.

In Brazil, through Vivo, we have strengthened our commitment to LGBTI+ inclusion with pioneering initiatives such as the Talent Bank for Trans People, which promotes employability and training in São Paulo and Curitiba; and Vivo Retifica, which facilitates the correction of names in official documentation, ensuring individuality, pride, and recognition for each person. We have also consolidated strategic alliances with the National LGBTI+ Alliance and Transempregos, becoming the first company in the telecommunications sector to adopt the UN Standards of Conduct.

As a sign of the international recognition of our commitment to this community in Brazil, we have received an award from the UN Global Compact for the Empodera programme and were recognised by Human Rights Campaign and Great Place to Work as one of the best companies for LGBTI+ people. These milestones once again reinforce our progress in diversity, equity, and inclusion, and strengthen an environment where everyone can grow with pride and psychological safety.

From Telefónica Spain, we continue to promote LGBTIQ+ inclusion through ongoing initiatives that foster awareness spaces, meetings of our internal communities such as T‑Entiendo, training and communication programmes, as well as new initiatives that expand visibility and support, such as T‑Conectadas or specific resources on gender identity and trans realities. In addition, we reinforce this commitment with a mandatory course for all employees on LGBTIQ+ diversity, the launch of the campaign “If it sounds strange the other way round, it was never right”, and dialogue spaces such as the session on diverse families, promoting environments where everyone can express themselves naturally.

Ultimately, today we once again reaffirm that at Telefónica, diversity drives us and inclusion connects us, enhancing our ability to innovate, grow, and generate impact in society. This is an essential part of Transform&Grow, our roadmap for developing talent in a diverse environment, giving our best, pushing our limits, and growing together.
