How long have you been with Telefónica and what is your assessment of your time here?
I joined Telefónica in September 2010, almost 14 years now! From the very first moment I was involved in projects to deploy and protect technological infrastructures, because at Telefónica we are not only a communications company, but also a great partner for developing IT projects.
Is there any project at Telefónica that you are particularly satisfied with or proud of?
That’s a difficult question, because we are a company obsessed with doing things better every day. But if I have to choose one, I would choose how brave and pioneering we were when we started to “glue” cybersecurity to our communications, and I am very proud to have been responsible for services such as “Clean Networks” or “AntiDDoS”.
What do you think Telefónica has contributed to society?
In addition to providing an essential service, I think that our society should feel very proud to have a Spanish company that is always concerned about bringing the greatest innovation where we have a footprint and providing a good service on a day-to-day basis. And above all, this company has helped a lot during disasters that have required a rapid deployment of our services.
Where do you see Telefónica in the future?
I see Telefónica, increasingly diversifying its technological portfolio, reaching many more countries and of course celebrating another 100 years of success.
Could you live without a mobile phone?
I belong to the generation that used to buy ringtones and now I live with my phone permanently on silent, but very close to me. I don’t think I would give up having a mobile phone, but it’s not hard for me to forget about it when it’s necessary to give 100% of your attention to things that are worth living with all your senses.
Help us solve one of humanity’s great enigmas: the potato omelette… With onion or without onion?
I once read something that I loved: “Anyone who doesn’t like an omelette with onions and undercooked, has no idea about life”, I couldn’t agree more!
