How long have you been with Telefónica and what is your assessment of your time here?

Ufff… 27 years… (already???!? No way!!!). I first joined ESTRATEL as an operator in the Customer Service Centre in the summer of 1997, to “make a few quid” during the summer (between university courses). But really… only in the summer… Now when I’m done I’m quitting. The longest summer in history… 27 years… The best. Thanks to Telefónica I met my wife and the mother of my children. A Telefónica life. Where I have worked, enjoyed, laughed and cried (with emotion). Telefónica is not a company to work for. Telefónica is a way of life where a person not only works, but can develop a whole professional life, be part of solidarity, sustainable, inclusive initiatives… A place where you teach and learn. Much better than I could have imagined.

Is there any project at Telefónica that you feel particularly satisfied with or proud of?

The incorporation of young people into the company (interns, Talentum, work experience students), many of whom are now part of the workforce. More than 40 cases! I have welcomed them, I have accompanied them, I have evaluated them and I have tried to fulfil my role in order to bring new talent to the company.

What do you think Telefónica has contributed to society?

So much… But beyond the fact that “we connect people’s lives to make the world more humane…”. The greatest pride I feel with absolute emotion is for our company’s contribution to social initiatives, inclusion, diversity, sustainability…

Where do you see Telefónica in the future?

Constantly renewed. Adapted to each moment. I see the Telefónica of the next 100 years. Why… “It is not the strongest that survives. But the one that best knows how to adapt to change”. At Telefónica we adapt day by day.

Could you live without a mobile phone?

No. Please… no. No and 1000 times no. It’s not the mobile phone. It’s knowing that I can contact my loved ones at any time. Seeing their face. Hearing their voice. To know what’s going on anywhere in the world at any time. Accessing any information… How can I give that up?

Help us solve one of the great enigmas of humanity: the potato omelette… With onion or without onion?

With onion. Very lightly cooked. With a good slice of bread and tomato (Pa amb tomaquet!!!), and …. in good company.
