Manuel Crespo de la Mata

Manuel Crespo (Madrid, 1971). Pathologically shy, family-oriented (although it is advisable not to check this with the family), interested in learning new things, more humanist than scientist, proud of his school, and, above all, a madridista.

He started as a lawyer at the law firm Gómez-Acebo & Pombo and at the former Xfera. His focus on the telecommunications sector led him to Telefónica in 2005. He was in the General Secretariat of Telefónica, S.A. until 2011. He worked for the Global Resources team (2011-12), and Telefónica Latin America (2012-16), as head of legal affairs. In Compliance, since 2016 he has been the Global Compliance Director, and since 2017 he has been the Group’s Data Protection Delegate.
