Yanina Chalup

Yanina Chalup is a demand analyst, mother of two girls and a fan of the River Plate football club. She has worked at Telefónica for 18 years and is also a journalist and entrepreneur. Now he is a Demand Analyst at Telefónica. She has worked as a journalist for various magazines and has produced television, standing out on the radio, where she has participated in various sports programs and has had his own column of literary recommendation. She is also an avid reader and has been working on an Instagram where she shares and recommends her reads.

Cristina Vela Marimon

Cristina Vela is Head of EU Affairs at Telefónica Brussels Office. She is involved in promoting Telefónica Group relationship with EU Institutions and Authorities with special focus on Data, Privacy and Cybersecurity policies.

José Manuel García-Margallo

José Manuel García-Margallo is responsible for political analysis, back up in stakeholder engagement with the EU institutions including Latin American related topics, editorial council, weekly report and administrative support in Brussels office.

Carlos Rodríguez Cocina

Carlos Rodríguez is the Director for EU Affairs and Head of Brussels Office at Telefónica.  In this capacity he designs the engagement strategy with the EU institutions and other relevant stakeholders involved in the decision making process on digital public policy and regulatory matters in Brussels.

Manuel Crespo de la Mata

Manuel Crespo (Madrid, 1971). Pathologically shy, family-oriented (although it is advisable not to check this with the family), interested in learning new things, more humanist than scientist, proud of his school, and, above all, a madridista.

He started as a lawyer at the law firm Gómez-Acebo & Pombo and at the former Xfera. His focus on the telecommunications sector led him to Telefónica in 2005. He was in the General Secretariat of Telefónica, S.A. until 2011. He worked for the Global Resources team (2011-12), and Telefónica Latin America (2012-16), as head of legal affairs. In Compliance, since 2016 he has been the Global Compliance Director, and since 2017 he has been the Group’s Data Protection Delegate. 

Alejandra García Hoyos

Alejandra García Hoyos is a member of the Competition team at Telefónica S.A. Her practice focuses on advising on competition law, State aid, and merger control in several jurisdictions. She also works on regulatory matters and represents Telefónica in associations at European level.  Alejandra started her professional career in Brussels, where she worked for the European Commission as a trainee and in various law firms.

Alejandra is a qualified lawyer and holds a double degree in Law and International Relations from the Pontifical University of Comillas (ICADE). During her studies, she had the opportunity to spend two Erasmus periods at Sciences Po Paris and Aarhus University in Denmark. After graduating, she completed an LLM in Competition Law at King’s College London.  

Valentina Daiber

Valentina Daiber is responsible for the areas of Legal, Compliance, Corporate Security and Data Protection, as well as the company’s regulatory work, relations with authorities and government agencies and the area of Corporate Responsibility & Sustainability. She also manages Telefónica’s representative office in the capital and the BASECAMP in Berlin.

José Juan Haro

Chief Wholesale and Public Affairs Officer at Telefónica Hispam. His areas of expertise include strategy, B2B marketing and sales, public policy and economic regulation.

Nilmar Seccomandi

Nilmar Seccomandi David is Director of Autonomous Network and Infrastructure in the Global CTIO Unit of Telefónica S.A.

He holds a degree in Electrical Engineering from UMC (São Paulo) and a Master in Digital Telco Management from the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya.

In the leadership of the corporate unit, his responsabilities include Network & IT operation centres, Service operation centres, FTTH deployment, Data Centre, Technical Leases, Energy efficiency and others. He is also leading Telefónica´s transformation towards the Autonomous Network (ANJ). Nilmar Seccomandi David had been working in various executive positions in the Operations area of Telefonica, where he started his working life in 1998

Laura Abasolo

Born in Bilbao, she graduated in Economics and Business Sciences from the University of Deusto. She has an MBA in “International Business” from the Norwegian School of Economics and Business Administration.

She is currently Chief Financial and Control Officer.

Yaiza Rubio Viñuela

I work at Telefonica as Web 3 & Metaverse Director and responsible for the “Network Tokenization” project. Among other things, I teach at Masters and Universities, and from time to time I encourage myself to do outreach. I collaborate with the media (Radio and TV). (Perhaps) I am known as the first Spanish female hacker to speak at events like DEF CON and Black Hat Briefings.

Susana Jurado Apruzzese

My professional career has been focused for more than 20 years on innovation. I am currently Head of Wayra Builder, Telefónica’s venture builder, the vehicle to create startups around new innovative ideas with a high potential market and invest in them. Previously, I was Head of Telefónica Open Innovation Campus, which aims to explore and implement collaboration models that allow generating impactful innovation together with the academic world. Before this role, for more than seven years, I was Head of Innovation Portfolio within the Core Innovation area at Telefónica, where my role consisted of executing and evolving Telefónica’s intrapreneurship program, Lean Elephants, as well as managing our internal ventures portfolio.

I am co-author of the Harvard Business Review case study “Telefonica: A Lean Elephant” and two books (both in Spanish) “The agile company” and “Lean Startup: application for entrepreneurs and intrapreneurs”.

I hold an MSc in Telecommunications Engineering, an MBA from IE Business School and a Certificate in Innovation and Entrepreneurship from Stanford University.

Juan Luis Redondo Maíllo

Juan Luis holds a degree in Computer Science from the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid, a Master’s in Computer Science from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, and a Master’s in Telecommunications Business from the Instituto de Empresa.

He has built his professional career predominantly in the Telecommunications sector. Upon returning from the United States, he began his consulting career at Atos ODS. Subsequently, he spent 10 years in various positions related to software project development at Telefónica I+D, the research, development, and innovation division of Telefónica.

He further advanced his career in management roles within the Studies department of Red.es, focusing on promoting programs to foster the Information Society. Following this, he held different positions in the Strategy department of Telefónica España before joining Telefónica S.A. to establish and drive the International Office of Telefónica S.A., which focuses on developing policies related to the internet and the digital world.

Over the past decade, he has held various management positions in the areas of Regulation, Public Policy, and Public Affairs at Telefónica S.A. Currently, he serves as the Director of Digital Public Policy at Telefónica S.A.

Additionally, he is an Associate Professor at the School of Telecommunications Engineering at the Polytechnic University of Madrid.

Nuria Talayero

Nuria Talayero is Head of Digital Public Policies in Telefónica S.A. After being in R&D and engineering areas, she has been working for more than 15 years in regulation and public policies applied to the digital sector.

Currently, she contributes to the definition of Telefónica’s public positioning and its communication, represents the company in international organisations such as ICC and leads initiatives related to the adoption of diverse digital technologies to promote their impact on companies and regions. Telecommunications Engineer from the Polytechnic University of Madrid and graduate in Business Administration from the UNED.

Dácil Jiménez Delgado

Dácil Jiménez holds a degree in economics from the Autónoma University of Madrid and the Free University of Brussels. She has more than 25 years of experience in the telecommunications sector, including more than ten years in Global Affairs. She currently contributes to the definition and communication of Telefónica’s public positioning and represents the company in international organisations such as the B20, the global business forum for G20.

Elena Valderrábano

Elena Valderrábano is Director of Global Sustainability (ESG) at Telefónica. Previously she has been General Manager of Fundación Telefónica.

She forged her career in Repsol, holding several executive roles in Sales & Marketing and Corporate Responsibility.    She has also worked as a lawyer for ten years specialising in commercial, maritime and environmental law.

She is a member of the advisory committee of Fundación SERES (Fundación Sociedad y Empresa Responsable), a non-profit organisation with 150 companies that promotes their leadership in the face of social change.

Elena has been recognised as one of the most influential women in ESG in the “Top 100 Women in Sustainability” ranking published by the British magazine Sustainability.

She holds a degree in Law and a diploma in Business Administration from ICADE, Universidad Pontificia Comillas. She holds a Master’s Degree in Maritime Business from IME, has completed the Higher Programme in Environmental Engineering and Management at EOI and the Integral Management Programme at IAE Austral University.

José María Bolufer de Francia

I am Telecommunications Engineer (Polytechnic University of Valencia), Master in mobile communications (Deusto University), and MBA (Instituto de Empresa) with an extensive added training in matters related to sustainability and sustainable finance (CESGA® certification). 

After having held various positions in technical areas of engineering, innovation, product development, and marketing in Telefónica, in 2016 I joined the Corporate Global Sustainability Area where I handle promoting ESG (Environmental, Social or Governance) business development and sustainable innovation. 

In my role I have also promoted the analysis and evaluation of the socio-economic impact as a key tool to know how the organization can contribute to society through reports, such as the study of the impact of connectivity in rural areas in Spain or the annual impact report of the company.
