King Felipe visits the Telefónica stand at MWC

His Majesty King Felipe visited Telefónica’s stand at the 2026 Mobile World Congress (MWC), which began today in Barcelona. He was welcomed by Marc Murtra, Executive Chairman of Telefónica; Carlos Ocaña, Vice-Chairman of the company; and Emilio Gayo, COO of Telefónica.

The delegation included Salvador Illa, President of the Generalitat; Jordi Hereu, Minister of Industry and Tourism; María González Veracruz, Secretary of State for Digitalisation and Artificial Intelligence; Jaume Collboni, Mayor of Barcelona; and John Hoffman, Chief Executive Officer of GSMA.

During his visit, King Felipe toured the technological demonstrations that Telefónica is exhibiting at its stand. In the almost 1,000 square metres of its exhibition space, the company is showcasing different technological experiences that highlight the high capabilities of 5G in combination with the utilities of quantum computing, the IoT, Artificial Intelligence, Network Slicing, satellite connectivity, Fog Computing, drones and robots, framed by a 360º LED ring, 15 metres in diameter, suspended and visible.
