Telefónica España has renewed its certifications for the UNE 19601:2025 Criminal Prevention Management System and the ISO 37001:2025 Anti-Bribery Management System with EQA, an international certification, inspection, and verification body accredited by ENAC (National Accreditation Entity).
This renewal positions Telefónica as one of the first companies in Spain’s telecommunications sector to successfully adapt its systems to the demanding regulatory updates of 2025 in this area, thereby strengthening its competitive advantage by ensuring the highest levels of ethics, transparency, and corporate governance.
Likewise, these certifications demonstrate that Telefónica España’s Criminal Prevention Management System incorporates the necessary elements to prevent, detect, and manage criminal risks associated with the commission of crimes within the company.
Furthermore, this dual milestone underscores Telefónica’s firm commitment to ethical business practices in the marketplace and reinforces its zero-tolerance stance toward corruption and criminal activity, making it a benchmark for all companies.
Telefónica España has held these certifications for more than six years, maintaining and improving its processes—both to conduct criminal risk analysis across all its activities in the telecommunications and digital business sectors, and to control and mitigate those criminal risks through various prevention and detection measures.
Lidón Safont, Director of Compliance at Telefónica España, notes: “These renewals demonstrate that our undisputed goal of being the best gateway for citizens to access digital technologies is inextricably linked to ambitious, rigorous, and effective management. At Telefónica, we understand that technological leadership requires both constant innovation and serving as an institutional benchmark for Spain in Europe in terms of integrity and good governance.”
Both renewals demonstrate that progress in compliance requires both the commitment of organizations that decide to implement the highest compliance standards and accredited certification bodies capable of evaluating those systems with the highest level of assurance.
