My career path: From programming to change management

It all started with curiosity. I wanted to understand how things worked behind the windows of desktop applications and web browsers. My first steps were in programming — where I learned to think logically, solve problems, and build solutions. But over time, I realised that technology alone does not transform. What transforms are people. That's when my path began to change.

From projects to people: what I learned along the way

Working in project management taught me to deliver excellence in scope, deadline, quality and risk. But even with everything well planned, the result was not always as expected. Something was missing. And that something was people’s commitment.

That’s when I learned about change management — and everything started to make sense.

What projects and change have in common

These two areas have much more in common than meets the eye:

  • Clear planning
  • Constant communication
  • People involvement
  • Results tracking
  • Focus on real impact

While projects deliver the solution, change ensures that it is adopted, understood, and sustained.

In the context of projects, many fail because they do not have a well-defined ‘why.’ The lack of clear objectives, poorly structured scope, or absence of strategic alignment can compromise the entire execution. In addition, the lack of communication between technical and business areas generates noise, misalignment, and resistance — which directly affects the adoption and success of change.

When listening changes everything

As our primary listening tool, we use form surveys and one-on-one conversations. It is not enough to deliver a tool or a new process. It is necessary to prepare the ground for change to flourish.

Connecting is what drives me

Today, I see myself as a professional who connects worlds: from technology to communication, from structure to empathy, from delivery to commitment. This integrated vision allows me to act more strategically, promoting a culture of continuous improvement and driving transformation with greater consistency.

‘I seek to connect: technology with people, processes with purpose, and delivery with transformation.’

Transforming with purpose

At Vivo, we experience transformation every day. That’s why I believe so strongly in the union between project management and change management. Because together, they deliver more than solutions — they deliver value.

This is the path I am building. A path that began with code, but today is made up of connections. And that aligns with everything we believe in here:

  • #VivoSiempre: putting the customer at the centre, with listening and human touch.
  • #VivoIADigital: using technology with empathy and purpose.
  • #YoNosVivo: valuing diversity, well-being and the living culture we build together.
