Estefanía Arias

I work as an optimisation engineer for Telefónica’s Radio Access Network. My job is to design strategies for functionalities, new services and new technologies, analyse them, adjust them to improve the performance of Telefónica’s mobile network. In this way we guarantee a high quality of service through the efficient use of the resources available in our network.

Cristina Muñoz Gardel

I currently work in the Finance Department of the Bluevía Fibra subsidiary. Specifically, I am responsible for Treasury and Finance. My main tasks are controlling cash inflows and outflows, including both operational and financial collections and payments, preparing cash flow forecasts to identify potential liquidity risks, and planning supplier payments.

In addition, I maintain ongoing relationships with financial institutions and collaborate with other departments such as Tax and Internal Audit, also participating in internal and external audits. All of this is done with the aim of ensuring the availability of financial resources and contributing to the company’s economic stability.

My role also involves constant supervision of financial processes to ensure they are aligned with internal policies and Telefónica group standards, which requires strategic vision and the ability to adapt to a constantly evolving environment.

Clara Vélez

I am Clara Vélez and I am part of the Identity Management team within Cybersecurity Operations at Telefónica Cybersecurity & Cloud Tech. My role ranges from technical implementation to project management, working with advanced tools such as CyberArk, a leading identity security platform.

CyberArk allows you to protect privileged access, manage credentials and apply ‘Zero Trust’ principles to guarantee security in hybrid and multi-cloud environments. It’s like having a digital safe that only opens for those who have the right key.

My academic career began at the Carlos III University of Madrid, where I graduated as a telecommunications engineer and I am currently finishing my master’s degree in cybersecurity, which has given me a very comprehensive view of the world of digital threats.

In addition, I was lucky enough to start as an intern thanks to the Talentum Scholarships, and from day one at Telefónica Tech I felt that my work had a real impact. There is nothing

more motivating than knowing that what you do helps to protect companies and individuals.

Vanessa Plaza

I have a degree in Economics and have spent almost my entire professional career linked to the Telefónica group, when in 2001, our paths crossed. From the second year of my degree, I was combining studies and work. And although I decided to finish my degree, I decided to stay in the world of technology and continue learning.

I am currently Head of Operations in the Future Workplace area at Telefónica Cyber Security & Cloud Tech.

Rose Mary Agüero

I’m Rose Agüero, Costa Rican by origin, Spanish by choice and curious by nature. Although I started young, I have been growing within Telefónica for more than 13 years, from my first steps in the opening of the market in Costa Rica, through projects in Central America, to today, where I am part of the global area of Digital Innovation.

Along the way I have had the opportunity to develop professionally in areas such as data analytics, product management and project management, until I reached my current role as Senior Program Manager.

I currently coordinate strategic programmes that connect global and multidisciplinary teams, aligning objectives and transforming the way we work. I lead people with the intention of generating genuine human connections, fostering team cohesion and promoting ways of working that balance productivity and well-being. All this in an international environment where we manage people through screens and different time zones.

I am passionate about efficiency, and also about creativity. I enjoy questioning the established, creating inspiring content and participating in spaces where technology not only solves, but also connects and transforms.

One of the recent achievements that has made the biggest impression on me was leading the Novo App Brasil programme in 2024 from my role as Program Manager, working hand in hand with a multidisciplinary team of leaders in different areas.

After more than a year of intense collaborative work, we managed to deliver more than 26 projects within the programme: a total redesign of the VIVO application in Brazil, with an optimised browsing experience and improved functionalities, which impacted more than 30 million people and was also recognised with several awards in the Brazilian market.

However, beyond the technical, visual and functional success of the application, it was a true example of global collaboration, teamwork and collective commitment.

Sergio Fernández

My work has always revolved around the healthcare sector and preventive healthcare. I am an industrial engineer and have a university master’s degree in Digital Health and Telemedicine. I have been part of Telefónica since 2000, I have worked in different subsidiaries and areas, with positions of responsibility in Customer Engineering and Key Accounts.

I have been with Telefónica Empresas since 2017 and currently have different product marketing and business development roles for the healthcare sector. Basically, I try to disseminate and improve Telefónica’s value proposition for the healthcare system.

Julia Llanos

I work at Telefónica Innovación Digital as Head of Software in a team of about 50 people dedicated to the development of solutions based on Artificial Intelligence. It is a multidisciplinary team, in charge of creating a platform so that multiple teams in the company can develop AI-based experiences, as well as the creation of core experiences and capabilities, ranging from data generation and processing, model training and design, to their deployment and maintenance in production.

My career at Telefónica began as an intern on work experience programmes. I started as a developer on cybersecurity projects within Eleven Paths, where I participated in initiatives such as Faast and Metashield. Later, I had the opportunity to lead the Data Science and models part of Aura, a particularly exciting project. Along the way, I have moved through different roles to reach my current one, and one of the things I am most proud of is the team we have built: diverse, competent and exceptionally talented.

Nacho Contreras

I have been with the company for 10 years, specifically since 2015 when Telefónica and Canal Plus merged to become Movistar Plus.

My work began 30 years ago at Canal Plus, I come from a television family. My grandfather was one of the first directors at RTVE, my father was a photojournalist and later director of “Jara y Sedal” and I, after studying Audiovisual Communication, embarked on Canal Caza y Pesca, to date.

I have always been a producer, I still am, I consider it my profession, although I have been the director of the channel since 2018. The job of a leader in a TV channel is exciting, demanding and extremely unpredictable, even more so in the case of a channel specializing in nature.

With a football match you know when and where it is, an interview can be scheduled, and most television formats are planned with practically zero improvisation.

In nature we never know what is going to happen, we can’t summon a roe deer to be filmed, and we never know what is hiding under the water, so we are used to uncertainty and long days in extreme conditions and wonderfully hostile places.

In reality, it is quite similar to the business world, it is still a jungle with hunters and prey, disappointments and joys, practically on a daily basis, pure and simple survival in which patience is fundamental, as is adapting to the environment, in this case the communication environment, and a good backpack of skills that get you out of trouble and allow you to react in time in an unpredictable environment.

That’s why, today from my role in Corporate Communications, I want to share some recommendations with you that may be useful when writing. And thus, help to reproduce more dynamic texts that enhance and facilitate reading.

Susana Caudeli

Carlos Rabazo

Beatriz Flores

I have a degree in Law from the Autonomous University of Madrid and an eMBA Master’s from the UPM. I currently work in the Product Marketing area for Large Clients at Telefónica de España as the person in charge of External Communication for clients and Digital Strategy, also coordinating the Telefónica Empresas Grandes Clientes website project.

Throughout my professional career at Telefónica I have worked in areas geared towards the B2B segment: in the CAC at the beginning (Customer Service Centre), later forming part of the Demonstration Centre project (first in front of the Puerta de Alcalá, and later at our corporate headquarters in Distrito Telefónica in Madrid), and since then coordinating Product Marketing communication, ‘translating’ technology into customer language, helping to explain the benefits of the technology. And as fate would have it, I have now returned to the ‘demonstration centre’ which has now become our technological inspiration space LaCabina, as part of the cross-disciplinary team that leads customer communication in Key Account Product Marketing.

Javier García Calzada

I joined Telefónica as an intern in 2013 and after a year I became part of the Telefónica Spain workforce in the Service Capabilities department. Capabilities are elements that offer services transversal functionalities for any type and segment of customer.

Always service-oriented, they are especially important in the development of services, both Residential and Corporate, because the same functionality offered by a capability is reused for different services, considerably reducing the economic cost and the time-to-market of development.

We enter Service Development projects at the Design phase and help provide the best possible solution.

Within the Capabilities plan we offer different functionalities: Notification, Location, User Profiling, Presence, API Exposure, Messaging…

José Daniel Gutiérrez

I joined Telefónica in 2018 and, although I have performed different roles, in recent years I have been dedicated to IT Project Management.

Currently, I work as a Project Manager, focusing mainly on local and transversal projects that involve a large number of systems and platforms. For years, I worked in this role in other companies, which has provided me with valuable experience that I have been able to apply at Telefónica.

My day as a Project Manager is full of planning, communication and problem solving, all with the aim of keeping projects on track and ensuring that the established objectives are met.

William Marcelo Marques

I have 19 years of experience at Telefónica, where I have worked in various areas such as Marketing, Customer Experience and Channel Development. In 2018, I began a career transition to the area of Artificial Intelligence, focusing on how AI can transform the way we relate to customers and optimise business processes.

I currently lead the artificial intelligence product discovery area at Vivo, where my team is responsible for identifying needs within the company that can benefit from the use of AI, designing solutions, calculating their impact and prioritising projects. We focus on the initial phase of the AI product lifecycle, from conceptualisation to technical and business validation, before transferring developments to the delivery teams.

Today we manage a backlog of more than 100 initiatives, ranging from process automation to advanced solutions with generative AI. Our goal is to ensure that artificial intelligence is implemented strategically, efficiently and with real impact on the business.
