Fortune and Statista have selected Telefónica as one of “Europe’s Most Innovative Companies 2025”, ranking the 100 most innovative European companies.
Fortune and Statista have recognised Telefónica’s leadership in innovation and its impact on the European business landscape, highlighting its innovative culture.
For this first list of Europe’s most innovative companies, Fortune and Statista evaluated more than 300 companies from 21 countries and 16 sectors based on their culture of innovation, product development, and process improvements.
The list includes companies from various sectors that are driving significant advances in artificial intelligence, biotechnology, healthcare, consumer products, and more, with strong support in research, development, and innovative business culture.
Telefónica sees innovation as a cross-cutting priority throughout the organization. It is integrated into its business model and ranges from improving network infrastructure to developing new digital products and services. This commitment is reflected in industry initiatives such as Open Gateway, where it has played a leading role from the outset in promoting the development of new standardized APIs on telecommunications networks to improve the functionality of digital services; pioneering technologies such as cybersecurity, blockchain, cloud, artificial intelligence, among others; and promoting an open innovation strategy through Wayra, Telefónica’s Corporate Venture Capital, investing in innovative startups and attracting entrepreneurial talent to the company.
