Today, as every day, we celebrate the talent and the contribution of all the women who are part of Telefónica and who drive our purpose through their work. On such a meaningful day, we renew our commitment to equal opportunities and to fostering an environment where everyone can develop without barriers, regardless of gender or any other consideration.

To achieve this, we have long been building a solid framework that promotes diversity, equality, and inclusion across all the regions where we operate, because we believe in a more plural, more open, and fairer world.

This commitment is an essential part of Transform&Grow, our strategic plan to develop talent in a diverse environment, directly aligned with the attitudes that define our culture:

  • Give your Best — always give your best.
  • Challenge your Limits — dare to go further.
  • Rise Together — grow, advance, and succeed together.

A real transformation

In recent years, we have achieved significant milestones that inspire us to continue progressing in this direction.

  • We have surpassed our target for women in management positions set for 2025, reaching 35.3% of women in leadership roles and moving closer to our 38.5% target for 2030.
  • Female talent continues to grow at Telefónica, now representing 40.4% of our workforce.
  • More than 90% of our employees say they feel included in their working environment.
  • Through Universitas, we promote development programmes aimed at future women leaders: more than 1,100 women have taken part in this pre‑executive training. In 2026, this initiative will go even further as it becomes part of the pre‑executive programme.

We are aware that equality is built day by day through awareness, inclusive leadership, and access to tools that broaden opportunities. This is why we continuously strengthen our training offer with content on diversity, unconscious bias, inclusive language, women’s empowerment, and work–life balance. We also actively participate in networking initiatives, personal branding (WomenWithTech), and advocacy for equality.

Recognitions that endorse our progress

Over the past year, our commitment has been acknowledged by prestigious international organisations:

  • The Workforce Action category recognises us for our concrete actions to improve the working environment.
  • We are included in the Forbes World’s Top Companies for Women 2025 ranking.
  • We are Financial Times Diversity Leaders 2026, for the seventh time, placing us among the most inclusive companies in the world.
  • We continue to be part of the IBEX Gender Equality Index, among the 58 Spanish companies with the highest female representation in management positions.
  • Through our Foundation, we promote various programmes to develop female talent, as well as STEM initiatives for girls and young women, and a range of actions supporting equal opportunities in employment.
  • o2 Telefónica Germany was one of the three finalists —and the only corporate initiative— in the DE&I Accelerator SPARK Awards organised by McKinsey and Handelsblatt in 2025.
