What does it consist of?

It is a practice with which we advance business results by combining technology, process redesign and change management. It is not just about ‘doing projects’ but about capturing early value (quick wins) while establishing lasting capabilities. We work with mixed business-IT teams, live prioritisation and continuous measurement of KPIs.

How do digital transformation and acceleration complement each other?

They go hand in hand. Transformation defines the direction (what and why); acceleration provides the expert muscle and governance to execute well and faster, avoiding drift and unsuccessful projects.

A typical example in retail: the CEO’s mandate to improve the customer experience (store, online channel, operations, applications, people). Most of the time with very limited budget or talent, we come in and reinforce with senior staff, prioritise the changes that drive KPIs and guide where investment should be directed to achieve results sooner.

What are the phases of digital acceleration?

  • 360º listening. The first and most necessary step. Listen to employees: objectives, context, ongoing projects, and stakeholders’ vision.
  • Design and prioritisation. Set up the acceleration office, agree on quick wins with immediate returns plus in-depth initiatives; design the plan, identify the talent and metrics that will govern the office.
  • Agile execution. This is not always possible, due to the company’s culture. If we can, we apply it with sprints, light governance, KPI monitoring and removal of blockages.
  • Scaling and adoption. Extend what works and support people to consolidate new ways of working. We adapt to the client’s culture and accelerate the pace progressively.

How important is digital acceleration in automation, challenges and digital processes?

It is often one of the first vectors of value: identifying repetitive tasks and automating them frees up capacity, reduces errors and improves employee satisfaction. Many automations are included in the initial set of quick wins because they are fast, cost-effective (licences and a few professional services) and have a visible impact on productivity.

How important is digital acceleration for businesses?

It increases the speed of execution and reduces the time to value, directs investment towards measurable impacts and helps stay competitive in highly demanding competitive environments. In practice, it means better customer experiences, more efficient operations and teams that are more committed to change because they see results quickly.

Are there differences depending on whether we are talking about large companies or SMEs?

Although the logic is the same, the scale and governance change. In large companies, the challenge is to coordinate multiple areas and understand the legacy; in medium-to-large companies (Tier 2), where resources or expertise are sometimes lacking to transform with certainty, acceleration brings
