Pere Ripoll

For the past year and a half, I have had the privilege of leading the External Plant Engineering area at Telefónica Spain. This unit is responsible for defining how the physical network that connects our exchanges to customers is built and operated, i.e. all the infrastructure outside our buildings. My team establishes the technical criteria, operational processes and systems that enable the operation. We are a cross-functional unit that supports the External Plant operation teams, both internal and from partner companies. My main responsibility is to ensure that these teams have the right processes, tools and systems to do their job effectively. This involves continuous improvement, adapting to new business and customer needs.

In addition, I analyse innovative technologies to assess their applicability and viability in industrial subsectors, always with a focus on optimisation and efficiency. Jesús Barrero

Since joining Telefónica 10 years ago, I have always worked in areas related to Product Marketing and Business Development in the Business segment. Currently, my work focuses on the technological solutions that Telefónica offers to Emergency Centres (112, 061, Security Forces and Corps).

It is a particularly motivating job because, as citizens, we can experience the impact our solutions have on society and the great work carried out by our colleagues in charge of implementing the projects: in an emergency, every second counts, and technology must be at the service of people so that it can be managed as quickly and efficiently as possible.

In addition, my job allows me to be very close to our customers, the Emergency Centres, and to experience first-hand the fundamental role they play in ensuring our care and safety.

Guillermo Bataller

I am mainly dedicated to creating and maintaining technological spaces or, as we like to say, ‘spaces of technological inspiration’. Ultimately, it’s about bringing the technological revolution to our customers and visitors. For more than 21 years, I have been involved in creating several centres for both Telefónica (in different countries) and our customers. In addition to this, I also advise and coordinate content and demonstrations at events such as the Mobile World Congress, etc.

Salomé Sarmiento

I have been working at Telefónica since June, after spending a year as a Talentum intern, and being able to officially join the company is a dream come true. Every day I learn something new and feel that I am growing a lot, both personally and professionally.

I have a degree in Industrial Engineering from Francisco de Vitoria University and I also had the opportunity to study Mechanical Engineering in the United States, which gave me a very practical and international perspective on engineering. But, honestly, I think what defines me most is not my education, but my Christian faith, which drives me to live every moment with enthusiasm, responsibility and a desire to always give my best. I try to show this in how I work and how I face challenges, always with a smile on my face.

I am now part of the Business Development and Product Management area, where I work on Telefónica’s new drone service: a Drone-as-a-Service model that combines 5G connectivity, artificial intelligence and advanced analytics. My role is to help drive its technical and operational development and turn it into a real, scalable solution for customers.
