The website dedicated to Telefónica’s Centenary, which took place last year, has once again been honoured with a new award.
A few weeks ago, telefonica100.com won one of the Webby Awards in the Events category, prestigious awards that recognise the best of the Internet. This time, the award came from the European Design Awards.

On this occasion, the commemorative website with which the operator celebrated its first century has received the “Silver” award in the “702 Information Side” category in recognition of the design and development of ‘an interactive and visually appealing website’, as stated on the awards website.
The award for Telefónica’s Centenary website at the European Design Awards also highlights the historical milestones, technological impact and vision for the future in terms of innovation conveyed by the site.
With 60,000 photos, videos and digitised documents, the website reached two million page views in its first month and one million interactions with articles and exploration of the timeline for a website that ‘had the challenge of being implemented with various advanced technologies, such as WebGL, Three.js and generative and predictive artificial intelligence’.
European Design Awards
The European Design Awards were created in 2007 when a group of editors, journalists, writers and academics began to collect, evaluate and recognise the best examples of communication design in Europe.
With 47 awards in nine different categories, these awards are presented annually at a gala held in a different city each year, with the 2025 edition taking place in Ljubljana, the capital of Slovenia.
