Álvaro Echevarría Arévalo

Álvaro holds a degree in Business Administration and Management from IQS Barcelona, an Executive MBA from ESADE and has completed the General Management Program (PDG) at IESE Business School, University of Navarra.
He joined Telefónica in April 2025 and became a member of the Group Executive Committee. He is currently responsible for the Office of the Chairman and CEO, as well as for the global public affairs strategy.
Álvaro has a solid background in the financial services sector, with a track record of holding various leadership positions at Banco Sabadell since 2002. In March 2023, he was appointed as the institution’s deputy general manager, overseeing the Institutional Relations and Corporate Security division.
Prior to this, Álvaro held positions at Retevision and the consulting firm EY.
