One step further in responsible management

At Telefónica, we understand that sustainability is not an end in itself, but a way of managing the entire organisation across the board. For this reason, we have certifications that endorse our commitment to ESG (environmental, social and governance).

These certifications are not an end in themselves, but a key tool to build trust, guarantee the reliability of our processes and services, and respond to the expectations of our stakeholders. All of them reflect our effort to put the customer at the centre, move towards more responsible management models and ensure maximum robustness in our operations.

These include Social Responsibility Management (ISO 26000), Environmental Management Systems (ISO 14001), Energy Efficiency (ISO 50001), Occupational Health and Safety (ISO 45001), and Criminal Compliance Systems (UNE 19601), among others.

Telefónica and its ESG certifications

Telefónica’s certifications extend to different geographical areas and business units, including Spain, Germany and the Global Units, ensuring the homogeneous application of the highest standards of management and transparency. This shows how the company articulates a global management oriented to the customer, as well as to the control of its risks and sustainability, with internationally recognized standards that strengthen the confidence of its main stakeholders.

For the first time in the company, a space has been created where all the company’s certifications are brought together in a single space, centralizing this information facilitates access to clear, updated and verifiable data, allows understanding the scope and relevance of each certification and reinforces confidence in the responsible management of the organization.

In addition, this approach clearly and tangibly favours how commitments to sustainability, quality and good governance are translated into real and measurable practices.
