Fundación Telefónica Annual Report 2024: Inclusive digitalisation
Discover Fundación Telefónica's milestones in 2024 in education, employability and social action.

The Fundación Telefónica Annual Report 2024 details the progress made in the countries where the Foundation operates during the 2024 fiscal year in economic and social aspects, among others. It is a document that has been published every year uninterruptedly since the creation of the foundation, back in 1998.
In 2024, we are also accompanying Telefónica’s Centenary with educational, social and cultural initiatives for society as a whole. Our investment in projects reached €49,757,562 and the social footprint stood at around 16.3 million people due to the adoption of more demanding measurement criteria aligned with international standards.
The Fundación Telefónica maintained its focus on leaving no one behind, especially in a context where digital transformation demands more inclusive and humane responses. This Report reflects this commitment and the methodological evolution that improves traceability and accountability for the impact generated.
Our commitment to education
We are convinced that education is the best antidote to social inequality in Spain and in other countries where we operate. For this reason, we work to offer people the training they need to open new horizons in their future on a personal level and contribute to the progress of the entire community.
In 2024, we promoted programs in 30 countries, reaching 941,785 children, 262,980 teachers, and 3,609 schools. During the year, ProFuturo’s new online platform and offline solution were consolidated, and the School of Key Actors was launched to strengthen the accompaniment of teachers and centers.
We understand that inequality in education is the origin of other inequalities. Therefore, aligned with the fourth of the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals, we promote training in the digital skills and abilities demanded by today’s society, with special attention to people in vulnerable situations.
Improving employability with digital skills
Our priority challenge in this area is to improve employability. We prepare people for a changing labour market with an innovative strategy in which digital takes center stage, without neglecting “soft” skills.
In 2024, our initiatives trained 1.2 million people during 12 million hours of training in 10 countries.
In 2024, the Campus 42 programming project celebrated its fifth anniversary, representing the most innovative exponent of the Foundation’s educational ecosystem. Its free, practical and gamified learning model has been extended to 56 campuses in 32 countries and continues to be a benchmark in training in programming, Big Data, cybersecurity or video game development.
Social action and digital inclusion
The Fundación Telefónica understands social action as a space to promote digital inclusion and improve the quality of life of people in vulnerable situations.
In 2024, 1.2 million benefited from its programs thanks to 54,422 volunteers, with an average of 13 hours of service each.
The capacity for mobilisation was put to the test with climate emergencies. The DANA storm, which hit Valencia and other Spanish provinces at the end of October 2024, mobilised more than 200 volunteers who carried out 500 actions and sent 18 tons of aid. Another of the fundamental pillars of the volunteers’ work was the cleaning of the affected areas, the recovery of spaces and the work carried out in the warehouses of local organisations.
Fundación Telefónica Report: transparency
Fundación Telefónica Annual Report 2024 demonstrates that technology can and should be used to close social gaps. By integrating education, employability, social action, culture, transparency and people management, the Fundación Telefónica has consolidated a social impact model that combines rigor in measurement, innovation in programs and human warmth in the care of the most vulnerable groups. The challenges of the future require continuing to strengthen alliances, exploring new digital tools and placing people at the centre of transformation.
This report by the Fundación Telefónica is based on the general principles of the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) within a process that determines the Fundación Telefónica commitment to content and quality, and ensures a balanced and reasonable presentation of the organization’s performance.
