Juan Azcue Vich

Born in Madrid, Spain, in August 1974.

Mr. Juan Azcue was appointed Director of Finance and Corporate Development of Telefónica, S.A. in January 2026, bringing together the financial and corporate development functions under a single direction. He is a member of the Group’s Executive Committee.

He became a member of the Executive Committee in January 2025 as Chief Strategy & Development Officer. In 2004, he joined the Mergers and Acquisitions team of Telefónica, S.A., where he participated in the execution of landmark transactions such as the acquisition of O2, the privatisation of Cesky Telecom, and the acquisition of 50% of VIVO. In 2019, he took over the management of this area and has since led the execution of strategic transactions such as the merger of O2 with Virgin Media in the United Kingdom and the sale of Telxius’ tower business.

He began his career at KPMG in Madrid in 1999, where he worked first in the audit area and subsequently in the Corporate Finance team. He also held a role at Ernst & Young in transaction support.

Mr. Juan Azcue holds a degree in Economics and Business Administration from the Complutense University of Madrid.
