In 2008, Telefónica approved a data protection policy for the entire group, which from a technical point of view complements and supports the company's corporate information security regulation framework.

The protection of Telefónica's customers' data has lead to a corporate project being specifically developed for data protection, which is in the process of being implemented in all countries where the company operates.

The aim of this project is to set corporate guidelines following European data protection requirements, which can be extended to all countries and to all businesses.

The project includes the implementation of control tools such as training workshops for all personnel who have direct contact with data transactions affected by the privacy policy.

This privacy policy is one of the key projects developed by the code of conduct office and has been approved by the human resources and corporate reputation commission.

More Localisation services

Services based on call localisation identify the approximate location of a terminal by means of the identification of the base station to which the mobile phone is connected. The precision of these services varies from a minimum of 50 metres up to several kilometres.
