Session description

The session will discuss how the operator is building the UK’s biggest and most reliable mobile network through its Mobile Transformation Plan. It will present O2’s Mobile Transformation Plan, which includes comprehensive investment in new spectrum, masts, small cells, and 4G and 5G upgrades, providing customers with a superior mobile network experience. The session will also detail how the operator is approaching upgrades across railways, major roads, stadiums, city centres, and historic not-spots. It will explain how O2 has built the UK’s largest 5G Standalone network, with its next‑generation infrastructure now covering more than 500 towns and cities across the UK and reaching more than 70% of the population. Finally, it will explore the role of satellite services for both mobile backhaul and direct‑to‑device connectivity, including O2 Satellite—our UK‑first partnership with Starlink to deliver Direct to Cell services to customers in the most remote areas, bringing coverage to former mobile not‑spots.
