Artificial Intelligence and new technologies

At Telefónica, we develop and use Artificial Intelligence responsibly and with a people-centric approach, guided by our AI Principles and a governance model that requires registering and assessing the risks of every use case. We apply measures to ensure transparency, fairness, and privacy protection, guaranteeing that personal information is not used by default to train algorithmic systems without a legal basis or without providing individuals with clear information and options to manage the use of their data. In addition, we train our teams to correctly apply these principles and measures throughout the entire AI lifecycle.

At Telefónica, we promote the use of Artificial Intelligence and new technologies responsibly, with a people-centric approach and aligned with our values. Through our Artificial Intelligence Principles, which act as a code of conduct, we work to ensure that AI systems are trustworthy, respectful of fundamental rights, and generate a positive impact on society.

This allows people to understand how we design, develop, and use AI solutions, the principles that guide them, and the measures we apply to manage risks and protect their data.

Governance

Telefónica’s Artificial Intelligence Governance Model establishes the framework that guides the design, development, procurement, and use of AI solutions in a responsible and consistent manner, aligned with our Artificial Intelligence Principles.

AI Risks management

The use of AI may give rise to a number of risks that must be assessed and mitigated. When developing or deploying an AI system, these risks should be taken into consideration.
