Telefónica and FireEye form an alliance to protect companies from cyber threats

The rise in Increased Persistent Threats (APTs) is driving the need for a new adaptive security focus that combines the perfect combination of technology, intelligence, and services.

With this necessity at hand, Telefónica Business Solutions and FireEye, leading company for stopping advanced cyber attacks, have signed an alliance to deliver leading cybersecurity, intelligence, and services technology to Telefónica’s corporate clients around the world.

In this way, the integration of FireEye security technology with Telefónica security administration services will offer companies advanced protection with close to real-time detection and a response that can be adapted to an organisation or individual’s threat profile.

As part of the agreement to protect against emerging mobile threats and correlate attack data from a mobile vector, Telefonica Mobile Security clients (Seguridad Móvil Telefónica) will have access to the FireEye® Mobile Threat Prevention (MTP) offer.  This services complements Telefónica’s current MDM, with threat detection capabilities internally built at Telefónica (Telefónica owns the monitoring solution Mobil App).

A company focused on cybersecurity, Telefónica has established many other alliances and acquisitions in cybersecurity that we skip ahead a few months in another case study.
