Human Rights Commitment

Telefónica officially expresses its commitment to Human Rights through its Business Principles, which contemplate not only the Universal Declaration of Human Rights but also the declarations of the World Labour Organisation (WLO).

Furthermore, as a signatory of the Global Compact, and being aware of the importance of respecting Human Rights when carrying out its activities, at the end of 2008 it signed "Human Rights: A Call to Action," an initiative promoted by Global Reporting Inititive (GRI), Global Compact, and Ethical Globalization Initiative that encourages adhering companies to produce and publish reports on respect for Human Rights as another business item, reporting in depth and analysing the measures taken regarding the implementation of Human Rights.
