Geographic divide

In October 2008, more than 110,000 customers had rural ADSL in Spain.

The geographic divide is the divide which prevents the extension of telecommunications services to rural areas because the cost of the service would be too high. In 2008, Telefónica worked to extend telephony services to rural areas in Spain and Latin America.
