Social and cultural sponsorships

Telefónica contributes to society by sponsoring numerous activities. The integration of various social groups and helping to popularise culture were the leitmotifs of a good many projects in 2008.

According to LBG (London Benchmarking Group) - the international methodology Telefónica has relied on since 2007 in order to better manage the impact of its sponsorships - the company's contribution increased by 12% in 2008 with respect to the previous year.

Many of the initiatives it backed benefited people of different nationalities, with a primary focus on Latin America.
