Spending on social initiatives

This section of the report provides a breakdown of our expenditure on community and cultural initiatives in 2008, around €115 million, by region and by category. This classification is based on the LBG methodology.

  • By region: we make a distinction between Spain, Europe and Latin America, the three geographical areas in which Telefónica organises its activities. The largest share of expenditures fell upon Spain.


  • By activities: Telefónica allotted the lion's share of its investment - 82.1% of the total - to education and young people, socio-economic development, and art and culture.
