In early 2011, Telef贸nica launched Wayra
, an accelerator for entrepreneurship projects based on ICT. Wayra helps talented entrepreneurs to accelerate their projects, using, also, the best mentor network in the industry, and the financial support through an innovation funding network for Latin America, Spain and other European countries. A support initiative that includes three large areas: infrastructure, management support and an appropriate working environment.
For any business idea, solution, design or project which solves a need in any one of the areas of technology, or communications services, or in any other service of the digital world in a web environment or mobile support, Wayra offers the support required to make it come true.
They analyze the proposals received, based on three assessment approaches: Innovative and disruptive nature, technological novelty and opportunity appeal.
Wayra represents an unprecedented initiative in Latin America, intended to make a difference in the economies of the countries in which it operates.
The project has already disembarked in Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Mexico, Peru, Venezuela, Spain and will reach other European markets where Telef贸nica operates.

In February 2011, Telef贸nica launched a developer community, under the BlueVia moniker, which will operate in all regions where Telef贸nica is present.
BlueVia is an open collaboration community, whose purpose is to gather the current creative talent of the community and to provide it with the required tools, infrastructure, and platform - including API access (application programming interface), as well as with the ideas and data, to help developers identify and satisfy market demands. With BlueVia, Telef贸nica becomes the first operator in the world to offer between 10% and 50% of the revenue generated by API transactions to the developers, and in addition developers retain 70% of any application sales and subscription revenue. Developers will be able to market their ideas in countries all over the world, and to earn a portion of the revenue generated by the traffic they create through their innovative applications.
