The Silicon Valley presence includes more than 90 staff and offices in Mountain View and San Francisco.

Meet the team
Director of Investments & Business Development, Telefónica Digital
Tracy is currently spearheading the growth of Telefónica Digital as Director of Investments and Business Development, focusing primarily on Silicon Valley, Israel and Europe, with a growing team of half a dozen employees, based in Mountain View, Madrid, London and Tel Aviv. She recently led the acquisition of San Francisco-based TokBox, and investments in Joyent, Boku, Addfleet, Expect Labs and Everything.me.
Tracy joined Telefónica in 2006 as the head of the Enterprise Sales Team for O2 UK, quickly winning a number of major accounts and significantly reducing churn by focusing on customer satisfaction. This success led to her promotion to the head of New Business Development at O2, where she led on Telefónica’s $207 million acquisition of Jajah, the Valley-based VOIP/IP telephony company.
Tracy started her career at Xerox, rising to be the first female member of the UK Board, leading a team of over 450 people. She then spent four years getting a taste of what life is like in an early stage company, working in a VC-backed start-up that went on to achieve a successful exit.
VP, Global Partnerships, Telefónica Digital
Wayne joined Telefónica Digital as Vice President of Global Partnerships in 2012, and arrived with extensive experience in the technology industry, which includes companies like Microsoft and BlueKai. At BlueKai, he was responsible for leading the Strategic Partnerships team, which was responsible for negotiating partnerships such as with Portals, Search Engines, and large digital web properties, as well as managing the business and on-going operations of those partners. In addition, his team was responsible for strategic business development opportunities such as exchanges, and data provider partnerships and emerging business development opportunities, such as mobile.
He was previously Director of Strategic Partnerships with Microsoft, where he architected, led negotiations for, and managed larger strategic deals for the search and advertising business. Among many other partnerships at Microsoft, Wayne led and managed the original search partnership with Twitter, led the strategic advertising partnerships with Viacom and Digg, and managed the Facebook partnership in its early stages. He also managed engagements with many other leading online organizations on Microsoft's behalf, such as AOL and News Corp, as well as key mobile partners for Microsoft’s online business such as Nokia and RIM.
Director of Open Web Devices, Telefónica Digital
Yotam heads Telefónica's push around the new HTML5-based mobile OS, Firefox OS. His responsibilities include product development, marketing, commercialization and sales and building out the emerging ecosystem. Firefox OS is a top strategic priority for Telefónica, backed up by very aggressive volume targets, budgets and go-to market plans. The platform aims to deliver benefits to customers, developers, OEMs and Carriers and is set to launch in two months in Latin America.
Previously, Yotam served as CFO to WAC – a telco industry initiative with a Board of 16 of the world's largest carriers focused on creating a global mobile payment platform and application warehouse prior to which he led various areas within Telefónica including Global Partnerships and Applications & Ecosystems.
Before starting work at Telefónica, Yotam worked at McKinsey & Company in Spain, after which he served as VP, Anti-Piracy Operations at Warner Bros., where he led the development and implementation of new distribution channels and models in several continents. He holds an MBA from UCLA and a Ll.b. from Tel-Aviv University.
VP, Strategic Initiatives, Telefónica Digital
James (Jamie) currently serves as VP of Strategic Initiatives at Telefónica Digital, which he joined in April 2013. He also serves as Director of Communications Product Design. His responsibilities include leading the communication product design team and building new communications products in the voice, video and messaging categories.
Prior to that, Jamie had a series of internal roles at Telefónica including Director of Communications Product Designs at Telefónica Digital, Chief Fire Stoker at O2 UK, General Manager, Europe, at Jajah and Business Manager at O2 UK. During his various roles, Jamie launched several products within the Telefónica Footprint such as International Favourites (O2 UK), Global Friends (O2 DE), Social Call, Virtual International Numbers (Telefónica Spain), Calling Card App (O2 UK) and O2 Connect (Telefónica Digital).
Before joining Telefónica Digital, Jamie was an advisor to RingRing Media, EVP of Corporate Development at ThumbPlay, Napster Sales Responsible at Ericsson AB, Head of Business Development at Ericsson Mobility World, Vice President of Business Development at Zingy and Director of Business Development at helloNetwork.
Director, OWD Business Development
Simon leads the Open Web Device (OWD) Business Development team, with responsibility for identifying and developing content and services that support the commercial growth and success of Firefox OS. His responsibilities include content strategy, local/global content acquisitions and operational management of end-to-end pre-loads and out-of-box services.
Prior to joining Telefónica Digital, Simon worked as Head of Global Partners and Application Development at Nokia USA where he drove Nokia’s content strategy and execution across multiple verticals in the US and EMEA. He was also Head of UK Partnering at Nokia where he and his team were responsible for partnerships with key UK brands to drive content and applications, as well as consumer-focused application marketing programs through partner and Nokia-owned channels.
Previously, Simon worked as Director of Business Development at Symbian, leading business development and strategic partnering along with his team across EMEA, the US and Asia. He also worked as Head of Europe - Operator Sales at TestQuest, Commercial and Sales Manager - Operators at Ericsson, and BU Director - Operators at Teleca.
Director of Product and Innovation, Advertising
Josh is Director of Product and Innovation, Advertising, leading a newly established team focused on developing new mobile advertising formats and driving innovation within the advertising sector, including developing new video and mobile ad formats.
Josh joined Telefónica Digital from AOL where he was Director of Product Management and Senior Director of Product Management, AOL Mail and Alto, and was responsible for leading the full-scale redesign of the AOL Mail experience, resulting in a significant increase in user retention and double-digit increases in display and search monetization. He also drove the development of Alto by AOL, a complete reimagining of what email could and should be.
Prior to his position at AOL, Josh was Principal Product Manager at eBay where he was responsible for the overall search experience. Josh also spent several years at Apple where he defined and launched numerous products key to Apple’s .Mac consumer-based suite of software.
